Czy warto kupować wiosną, sadzonki warzyw, kwiatów? Czyż nie mogę wyprodukować je sam? Czy  w okresie letnim i jesiennym nie mogę cieszyć się z własnych  warzyw i cieszyć oko bujnym wzrostem kwiatów?

Szklarnia to zamknięte pomieszczenie pokryte w całości szkłem . Szklarnia pozwala na maksymalne wykorzystanie ciepła i światła. Jest bardzo przydatna w naszym klimacie gdzie wiosny są kapryśne, noce z przymrozkami a i dnie jeszcze w maju z minusowymi temperaturami . Szklarnia pozwoli także izolować nasze uprawy od czynników zewnętrznych, również takich jak choroby.

Wybór miejsca

Naszą szklarnię /pisze tu o pomieszczeniu wielkości 10-15m2/ winniśmy usytuować  na południowym skraju naszej działki, oś długa szklarni winna przebiegać  na kierunku wschód – zachód. Od strony południowej a dobrze i ze wschodniej nie powinna być zasłonięta przez zabudowania lub drzewa. Wielkość  szklarni zależy od naszych potrzeb, ale 10-15m2 powierzchni  powinno  wystarczyć  na zaopatrzenie w sadzonki warzyw i kwiatów a także na  późniejsze nasadzenia dla całej nawet większej rodziny.

Podłoże

Podłoże najlepiej przepuszczalne  ale każde inne można doprowadzić do właściwej struktury. Należy zastanowić się nad wykonaniem lub nie fundamentu . Z natury szklarnia jest budynkiem użytkowanym przez wiele lat i  wykonanie fundamentów nie jest najdroższą częścią  inwestycji  i  ja preferuję fundament stały/najczęściej betonowy/ - nie musi być szerszy niż 15 cm.

Szkielet

Zastosowanie jako ramy teownika metalowego T30 i zakonserwowanie go przynajmniej dwukrotnie odpowiednią farbą da nam możliwość przetrwania takiej budowli przez  ponad 50 lat. Zastosowanie drewna – nie daje takiej możliwości choć dla nieuzbrojonego / np: w spawarkę/ majsterkowicza jest to materiał łatwiejszy w użyciu.   Do oszklenia najlepiej używać  szkło ogrodnicze   /szklarniowe/ gdyż i grubość i przepuszczalność  światła jest ważna. Jednocześnie takie szkło jest najtańsze.  Obecnie  do umocowania szkła do  ramy używamy silikonu , rzadko kitu szklarskiego, który jest tańszy w fazie budowy lecz szybciej ulega degradacji. Pod tafle szkła dobrze jest stosować  specjalne osłonki plastikowe które powodują że w czasie mrozów nie popękają nam szyby. Ważne by pochyłość dachu była większa niż 20o.

W takiej szklarni  bardzo ważne jest wietrzenie . Najlepiej poprzez uchylne  okna dachowe a także przez uchylne ściany boczne. Rozwiązania należy przemyśleć  przed podjęciem  realizacji. Drzwi w takiej małej szklarni nie muszą być  usytuowane pośrodku ściany szczytowej, nawet wskazane jest drzwi  umieścić  z boku . Ściana zachodnia /skąd wieją w Polsce przeważnie wiatry/ winna mieć możliwość  otwierania a także warto zastanowić się nad wzmocnieniem konstrukcji poprzez dodatkowe podpory.
